WEEELABEX (Waste of Electric and Electronic Equipment Label of Excellence) has been developed by a European collaboration of producers and processors. This standard describes the procedures for recycling and processing discarded electrical appliances and electronic equipment.
Since 1 July 2015, processors of electrical and electronic equipment (e-waste) must possess the required certificate through WEEELABEX certification. This standard sets requirements for the entire process. WEEELABEX-certified companies are obliged to register all the e-waste they process with a National Register, so that all processed volumes can be substantiated to the government.
